Flying in South Africa
Before flying a South African registered aircraft, you will need to validate your foreign licence.
Aero Savannah provide you with all the preparation materials required to give you the best chance of obtaining your validation.
Validation pre-application at the SACAA prior to your arrival in country. With our local knowledge and contact, we will deal with all the paperwork and application. We recommend starting the process a minimum of 3 months prioor to the beggining of your trip.
28-Days Validation
- Valid for 28 days
- Briefing given by our team on local procedures and general flying around Africa
- A basic competency check-flight
- Submit (by hand) copies of relevant documents to the CAA for hand-over of the validation
5-year validation
- Valid for 5 years
- Write an online airlaw exam
- Initial PPL skills test, including cross-country test
- As the 5 year validation is pre-issued / already in hand, the above effectively “activates” your validation and you’re good to fly straight away
