Your journey continues south, soaring above the vast wilderness of Kruger National Park. It is only from the aerial perspective that you can truly understand how vast this animal kingdom is. Keep a keen eye out for elephants, hippos, and other magnificent wildlife that can often be spotted from the air. You will be flying to the Southern part of Kruger, renowned for its high density of lions, where you will spend the next two nights surrounded by the beauty and tranquillity of the African bush.
After an exhilarating few days in the bush, it is time to change scenery. You will head to one of South Africa's most captivating coastal treasures. With its powder-white beaches, crystal-clear turquoise waters, thriving mangrove forests, and extraordinary marine life, this idyllic destination is perfect for snorkelling, scuba diving, or simply relaxing in complete tranquillity on its secluded shores.
Your next flight might be one of the most scenic of your journey. You will be leaving Kosi Bay in the direction of Durban Virginia for a technical stop, and soon after, you will be soaring southwest along the coastline at 500ft to catch good glimpses of dolphins, sharks and potential whales. Your destination is the iconic Port St. Johns airfield, situated on Mount Thesiger. The approach and landing are particularly challenging, with dramatic cliffs and a steep drop adding an element of adventure to your arrival. You will be staying at an isolated paradise called Umngazi, where dramatic cliffs meet the light blue waters of the Indian Ocean — surrounded by lush green hills, indigenous forests and secluded beaches, this laid-back coastal retreat is the perfect place to slow down, unwind and truly explore the spectacular Wild Coast.
Your final stop before heading back to Johannesburg has arrived. It is time to begin the pièce de résistance of your flying journey and discover the spectacular Drakensberg. Your day begins with another demanding landing at Dragon Peaks, where technical finesse is once again required — one way in, one way out, with very little margin for error. Fortunately, the challenges and experiences of the preceding days have prepared you well.
